Operation Teen Buckle Down

Operation Teen Buckle Down was started by the New Holstein Police Department along with the Student Council with a goal to increase seat belt usage from 29% to 80% or higher among students at the New Holstein High School. A state grant was applied for and issued to the police department to help fund this project.
Starting January 2, 2001, New Holstein police officers and school faculty will issue citations to students caught wearing their seat belts. Don’t worry; these are good citations. After a student receives one of these citations, his/her name will be placed in a drawing and he/she will be eligible to win prizes.
Prizes will be awarded weekly and monthly. Weekly prizes have a $25 value and will include headphones, CD’s, gift certificates to Schwarz’s Supper Club and Jim & Linda’s Lakeview Club, and various other gift and gas certificates. Additionally, one monthly drawing will occur and these larger prizes include a CD player, 13” TV, DVD player, snowboard, GAP gift certificate, VCR, and a leather coat. The grand prize will be a brand new MOPED!
Here are the Rules:
*Two winners will be announced at the end of each week.
If there is no school on Friday, there will be no winners.
*There will also be two monthly winners.
*After a student wins a prize, his/her name will be removed
from the drawing, but it will be kept in the grand prize drawing.
*There is no limit to the amount of citations a student
can receive.
*Forging citations and any other breaking of the rules
will result in disqualification.
Good Luck and Remember to Buckle Up!
