OWI Awareness Program

On March 11,2002 The Police Department presented an OWI awareness program to members of the Kiwanis Club.  Lt. Jeff Hebl and PSLO Eric Voland presented an overview of the types equipment available to the New Holstein Police Department and the types of  awareness programs Officer Voland  uses on students in school to show the effects and consequences of alcohol.  (Below left) Officer Voland explains and demonstrates a field sobriety test to a Kiwanis member who is wearing Fatal Vision Goggles while Lt Jeff Hebl observes her field test.  (Below right) Again, Lt. Hebl observes a second Kiwanis member attempting a field test while wearing the Fatal Vision Goggles.  These Goggles simulate the effects alcohol would have on their body.  The Officers utilized a PowerPoint presentation and a practical exercise from some to the attending members.
