Drug Information Program

On Thursday, April 18 starting at 7:00 pm in the New Holstein High School Library, the New Holstein School District and the New Holstein Police Department presented "PRIDE Positive Resources Involving Drug Education."

The presentation placed a special emphasis on drug issues which could affect all children in the New Holstein area.  The goal of the Program was to inform parents about what they need to know about kids and drugs.  The topics of the presentation included "huffing,"  physical signs and symptoms of illegal drug use, and the identifiers of activities which are dangerous to children.

A variety of items and paraphernalia associated with the topics discussed were displayed for audience viewing.  Part of the discussion involved what resources and options are available to parents if they suspect their child is using illegal substances.  Time was also allotted for parents to express their concerns or ask questions of the presenters.

New Holstein High School Associate Principal Kathy Kops, Police School Liaison Eric Voland and Officer Rob Baldwin presented the program.  Officer Baldwin is the drug officer for NHPD and is an active member of the Calumet County Drug Task Force.  The program was free of charge.
